Privacy Policy

INTRODUCTION

This privacy policy is to help you understand what data we collect, through our website or any of our related software or mobile applications (the “Services”) that link to this Privacy Policy.

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to our collection, and use, disclosure of data about you as described in this Privacy Policy. You must not use the Services if you do not agree with our Privacy Policy.

WHAT DATA DO WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE IT?

How we collect your data depends in part on how you use the Services. We may store the data you submit to or through our Services, as well as data we collect in connection with your use of our Services.

We may use the data to fulfil your requests, provide the functionality and improve the quality of Services, personalize your experience, track usage of our Services, provide feedback to businesses that are listed on the Services, display relevant advertising, provide customer support, message you, back up our systems and allow for disaster recovery, enhance the security of the Services, and comply with relevant legal obligations.

Among the data we collect, please note:

  • Account Data

When you sign up for or use our services, you voluntarily give us certain data. This can include your name, profile photo, username, password, email address you used to sign up, and any other data you provide or post on our Services. If you’re using the website on your mobile device, you can also choose to provide us with location data.

You also may give us permission to access your data in other services. For example, you may link your Google Plus, Facebook or Twitter account to dme.ng, which allows us to obtain data from those accounts (like your friends or contacts). The data we get from those services often depends on your settings or their privacy policies. We encourage you to consult directly with such third-parties about their privacy practices.

  • Public Content

The data you post on our services is intended for public use, including your ratings, reviews, tips, photos, comments, likes, bookmarks, friends and lists (collectively, “User Contributions”). We may display this data on our Services, share it with businesses, and further distribute it to a wider audience through third party sites and services.

You should be careful about revealing any sensitive information about yourself in such postings.

  • Contacts

You may have the option to request your friends to join dme.ng by providing their contact data. If you request a friend to join and connect with you on our Services, we will only use your friend’s contact data to process your request.

  • Communications

When you sign up for an account, you are opting in to receive emails from other dme.ng users, businesses, and dme.ng itself. You can follow the “unsubscribe” instructions in commercial email messages. Please note that you cannot opt out of receiving certain administrative notices, service notices, or legal notices from Dme.ng.

  • Transactional Data

If you make reservations or purchases through our Services, we may collect and store certain data about you to process your requests and populate forms for future transactions, such as your phone number, address, email, and credit or payment card data. This data may be shared with third-parties who help in processing and fulfilling your requests. When you submit credit or payment card data, we encrypt that data using industry standard technologies. If you write reviews about businesses with which you conduct transactions through our Services, we may publicly display data that you transacted with those businesses.

  • User Activity

We may store data about your use of our Services, such as your search activity, the pages you view, the date and time of your visit, and the businesses you call using our mobile applications. We also may store data that your computer or mobile device provides to us in connection with your use of our Services, such as your browser type, type of computer or mobile device, browser language, IP address, mobile carrier, unique device identifier, location, and requested and referring URLs.

  • Cookies

We, and third parties with whom we partner, may use cookies, web beacons, mobile device IDs, “flash cookies” and similar files or technologies to collect and store data in respect to your use of the Services and third-party websites. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer that enables us to recognize you (for example, as a registered user) when you visit our website, store your preferences and settings, enhance your experience by delivering content and advertising specific to your interests, perform research and analytics, track your use of our Services, and assist with security and administrative functions. Cookies may be persistent or stored only during an individual session.

It may be possible to disable some (but not all) Cookies through your device or browser settings, but doing so may affect your ability to use our Services. The method for disabling cookies may vary by device and browser, but can usually be found in preferences or security settings.

Third parties whose products or services are accessible or advertised through the Services, including social media services, may also use cookies or similar tools, and we advise you to check their privacy policies for data about their cookies and other practices. We do not control the practices of such partners and their privacy policies govern their interactions with you.

  • Third Parties

We may share data about you with third parties as follows:

  •  Tailored Advertising

We may allow third parties whose products or services are accessible or advertised via the Services to use cookies or similar technologies to collect the same type of data for the same purposes as dme.ng does for itself. They may be able to associate the data they collect with other data they have about you from other sources. We do not necessarily have access to or control over the Cookies they use, but you may be able to opt-out of some of their practices by visiting Network Advertising Initiative and/or Digital Advertising Alliance. Please note that to the extent advertising technology is integrated into the Services, you may still receive ads even if you opt-out of tailored advertising. In that case, the ads will just not be tailored to your interests. Also, we do not control any of the above opt-out links and are not responsible for any choices you make using these mechanisms or the continued availability or accuracy of these mechanisms

  • Service Providers

Some of the services we offer such as dinner reservations and food delivery, may be provided by third-party providers. We may also outsource some of our functions to third-party providers, such as customer support, tracking and reporting functions, quality assurance testing, payment processing functions, conducting surveys or organizing sweepstakes and other services. We may share data from or about you with these third-party providers so that they can perform their services or complete your requests.

  • Aggregate Data

We may share user data in the aggregate with third parties, such as advertisers and content distributors. For example, we may disclose the number of users that have been exposed to, or clicked on, advertisements.

  • Business Transfer

We may share data from or about you with subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other companies under common control, in which case we will require them to honour this Privacy Policy. If another company acquires dme.ng or all or substantially all of our assets, that company will possess the same data, and will assume the rights and obligations with respect to that data as described in this Privacy Policy.

  • Data shared with Restaurants on dme.ng

We may share data from or about you and your use of our Services (such as which businesses you bookmark or dining preferences) with Restaurants on Dme.ng.

Data you choose to share with a restaurant when you make a reservation and/or pay a restaurant through our Services may be used by the restaurant for its own purposes. We do not control the privacy practices of restaurants. Please contact the restaurant directly if you want to learn about its privacy practices.

  • Legal Purposes

We may investigate and disclose data from or about you if we have a good faith belief that such investigation or disclosure is (a) reasonably necessary to comply with legal process; (b) helpful to prevent, investigate, or identify possible wrongdoing in connection with our Services; or (c) protect our rights, reputation, property, or that of our users, affiliates, or the public. This may involve the sharing of your data with law enforcement, government agencies, courts, and/or other organizations on account of legal request such as subpoena, court order or government demand to comply with the law.

  • Links

Our Services may contain links to unaffiliated third-party websites. Except as set forth herein, we do not share your personal data with them, and are not responsible for their privacy practices. We suggest you read the privacy policies on all such third-party websites.

  • Social Networks

If you interact with social media features on our Services, such as the Facebook Like button, or use your social media credentials to log-in or post content, these features may collect data about your use of the Services, as well as post data about your activities on the social media service. Your interactions with social media companies are governed by their privacy policies.

For example, we do not have any control over whether a recipient of one of your messages publicly posts it or its contents. Similarly, dme.ng may also access such messages in the course of investigations relating to use of our Services.
